Terms and Phrases
Change Partners:
Change Partners are the people who catalyzing organizations work with to enlarge their efforts into the target community, such as:
- members
- volunteers
- experienced target audience members
- outreach individuals, e.g., teachers
- community leaders
- partnering organizations
- sponsors/funders
- contractors
One of their leadership roles is to provide feedback to the catalyst leaders about the need/effectiveness of capacity-building efforts.
Community Catalyst Organizations:
Organizations that have resources and intentions focused on supporting
changes that will improve communities in a wide variety of ways.
Catalyzing change usually requires the organizations to engage people by:
- inviting them to join in their effort
- providing them with information
- keeping them informed on results
- gathering feedback to improve the work
- connecting them with others
One of their leadership roles is to create and build leadership capacity in communities, so their efforts can be sustained beyond the initial momentum.
Innovative Learning Experience:
Instead of the traditional instructional approach,
the forum will build on the wisdom and experiences of the whole group using dialogue as the key
learning tool. What we mean by dialogue: "Interacting with others in a manner in which each of
us brings an intention to understand and learn while remaining open to the possibility of change."
Dialogue, when working well, energizes and catalyzes creativity leading to unforeseen insights and
ideas. Dialogue is powerful; it provides an opportunity to have completely new conversations and a
means for group wisdom to emerge.
