Leadership for Sustainability Course

Whether leading change in an organization or in larger local and global communities, leaders who embrace sustainability challenges also face unparalleled social leadership challenges. The premise of this course holds that the complex nature of the local and global sustainability challenges require holistic economic, environmental and social solutions. This knowledge coupled with what we are learning about how people, organizations, communities and societies engage in processes of complex transformational change require a radically expanded view of leadership and associated capabilities. This course explores 1) interrelated, complex and dynamic sustainability challenges, 2) a foundation of holistic leadership principles and capabilities required to meet these challenges, and 3) an array of holistic frameworks that enable leaders to effectively engage with the challenges, and the people/organizations who are impacted by and/or contributing to the challenges of sustainability.
